The batteries for the Charge Comfort, City and XC are all removable, allowing you to recharge them at home, at work, or wherever there’s a power outlet.
You’ll need at least some battery life in order to continue receiving electric assist but, thanks to our handlebar display, you’ll always be aware of how much power you have left.
Once your battery gets down to about 30% charge, it will go into a power saving mode in order to maximize the range you will get out of this last 30%. In the power saver mode, the motor will only provide level 1 assist and the throttle will not engage.
Even with no battery power, you can still pedal your Charge electric bike just like any other bike, just without electric assist.
Eventually, you may notice a drop in how long your battery lasts before requiring a recharge. This will happen after about 700 charging cycles, which is 6 - 7 years for most riders. If this begins happening, it is a sign that your battery needs to be replaced and you will need to purchase a replacement battery
